Finding Your Perfect Spray Tan Client, And Creating a Community, Not Just A Business

Aug 01, 2024

Finding your right clientele is the key to success, because In the world of business, understanding who your ideal clients are is crucial.

With the variety of products and services you offer, identifying the right customers ensures not only business success but also customer satisfaction. Trying to push things that don't make sense to your customers will make them feel they are misunderstood and their purchase isn't of the value they would hope to be investing their money into.

Sometimes, we focus on the wrong things, and the things that don’t matter as much to our customer base--even if they mean a lot to us. This causes us to lose sight of the real goal: making money and serving the right clientele.

Go back to the beginning: why did you start your business?

The answer, for many, is to make money while providing valuable products or services, or maybe to introduce them to something that did a lot for us personally. Sharing that personal experience will authentically draw in others looking to have the same results and experience that you did. That's organic growth.

It’s essential to ensure we are attracting clients who enjoy and benefit from what we offer, and while not every product will be a perfect fit for every customer, the key is to find those who are a perfect match.

Let's think about understanding your ideal client with the tips below:

1. *Identify Their Needs*:
Different clients have different needs. For example, in the spray tanning industry, some clients may be looking for a natural, sun-kissed glow, while others may seek solutions for evening out their skin tone. By understanding these needs, you can tailor your approach to each client, and promote your understanding of the product and how to tailor it to their requests and expected results.

2. *Focus on Local Communities*:
There are countless potential clients within your local community who are a perfect fit for your products. Instead of trying to please everyone, concentrate on those who will truly appreciate and benefit from what you offer. This will make you feel appreciated, and keep you from headaches and unhappy clients that probably didn't know what they were looking for in the first place. Don't try to mold your services to the client; stay true to your brand and your services and what they do for your customers!

3. *Inclusivity and Diversity*:
Being inclusive and diverse is vital, but it's also important to recognize that not every product will suit every skin tone or type. For instance, higher melanin skin tones may have different requirements from your products. Acknowledge these differences and develop solutions that cater to various needs while remaining within safe and approved guidelines, such as those set by the FDA for DHA percentages in spray tanning solutions. Educate yourself as much as possible and be able to relay the information to your customers so they are satisfied with your answers and results when working with what is best for their skin. Make sure they know that you won't just attempt to give them a spray tan in order to make a sale; make sure they know how important their safety and skin care is--always--first and foremost!

When you authentically share your products, each item will naturally appeal to different segments of your audience. Understand the product and who to offer it to; this will help it land in front of the right clients. Know which products are best suited for which skin tones and types. Once you've started to grow a community of all skin tones and types, you can share what you know to your community and they can help friends--that have similar and different skin tones as theirs--find you, too! This again helps you grow with natural, organic growth you can feel good about!

Create a place these clients can connect--a community page or group on facebook, a newsletter list, or something that constantly draws people together. This creates a tanning culture that says BEETTAN is a lifestyle, not just a spray tan service! Try hosting popup events at other businesses like salons and boutiques, offer parties and wedding offers, and ultimately make people feel that spray tans are a SOCIAL opportunity! This again will help grow a community rather than a business or service offering!

Communities are how we thrive and create trust and connections; it is what makes us feel we belong. If someone is insecure or doesn't think they are the 'spray tan type' or are insecure of their body, holding space for them in your community automatically takes that insecurity to a lesser level and invites them to feel included! Reach out, connect, and GROW your audience with a community much faster than without.

Let us know how you're growing your BEETTAN community; we'd love to know how to connect and join your pages to share with them and help encourage your customers to love BEETTAN as much as all our BEETTAN partners do!

Here are some suggestions on growing a community; we hope this helps!
